Chemistry: The basic tools of chemistry: atoms, molecules, ions and introduction to chemical reactions; stoichiometry - quantitative information from chemical reactions; thermochemistry - energy and chemistry; gases and their behaviour. The structure of atoms and molecules - the structure of the atom, atomic electron configurations, concepts of bonding and molecular structure; states and phases of matter; the control of chemical reactions - chemical kinetics - the rates and mechanisms of chemical reactions, chemical equilibria - general concepts.
